It was a stormy night. Rain hit the windows like impatient fingers knocking to be let in. On the edge of the city stood an ancient mansion—The Virasat House—a place as mysterious as its history.Everything appeared calm… until a muffled scream echoed from the south wing. A room that had been locked for 12 years—The Silent Room.
The next morning, house servant Ramprasad tried to clean the room, but the door wouldn’t open. It was locked from the inside. When they broke in, what they found turned blood cold.
There, on the expensive Persian rug, was a lifeless body. Blood still fresh.
The body belonged to... Sushant Mehra.
🕵️ Who was Sushant?
32-year-old Sushant had recently returned from Delhi to claim his share of the ancestral property. Intelligent. Quiet. Introverted. The kind who watches more than he speaks.
Nobody had expected this.
And definitely not in a room that was sealed for over a decade.
🎭 The Suspects in the House
The mansion had 6 residents:
1. Rajendra Mehra – Sushant’s older brother, hot-headed, and obsessed with property.
2. Neela Mehra – Rajendra’s wife. Calm, but cold.
3. Gauri Devi – The 84-year-old grandmother. The matriarch.
4. Sandhya Mehra – Cousin. Artistic, distant.
5. Sharad Singh – The house manager. Loyal. Maybe too loyal.
6. Ramprasad – The servant. Found the body.
Now, a murder… with no weapon, no sounds, and no way in or out.
🧩 The Investigator Arrives
The case landed in the hands of Inspector Anjana Rawat, a sharp, calculated, and intuitive officer.
She noticed something strange immediately—the body, the blood stains, and a sense of deliberate calm.
Tapping the walls of the room, she found a hollow echo. And then—a secret passage.
Behind one of the walls was an old hidden tunnel, probably built during colonial times. Dusty but usable.Someone knew about this tunnel. Someone used it… to kill.
⚠️ Everyone Had a Motive
Rajendra hated Sushant for inheriting half the property.
Neela seemed anxious—not sad, not shocked—just... afraid.
Gauri Devi was silent, hiding something in her deep eyes.
Sandhya claimed she heard footsteps at midnight, but never stepped out.
Sharad said he was in the kitchen till 2 AM—but no one could confirm.
The tunnel led to the old storeroom—a place only Ramprasad and Sharad ever entered.
📜 Hidden Letters
While inspecting the storeroom, Anjana found an old box—inside were letters addressed to Neela, written by someone named Vivek.
One line repeated in every letter:> “If Sushant gets the papers from Dadi, we lose everything.”
What were these “papers”? A will? A secret? A betrayal?
⚡ The First Shock
Anjana called everyone together. One by one, she pressed them with questions.
Anjana: “Neela ji, who is Vivek?”
Neela (visibly shaken): “A… friend from before. Sushant found out. He threatened to tell everything. But I didn’t kill him…”
Before she could say more, Sharad stood up.
“I didn’t do anything! I was just… following orders!”
Anjana: “Whose orders, Sharad?”And then… the most unexpected moment.
Gauri Devi, the grandmother, stood up slowly.
“It’s time,” she said, with steel in her voice.
Everyone froze.
Gauri Devi: “I built that tunnel… decades ago. I knew one day this house would witness blood.”
Anjana: “You knew this would happen?”
The old woman nodded. Calm. Certain.
And then she said—
“The killer… is someone none of you will suspect.”
And she took a name.
The room went silent.
